Ranveer Singh has found a fan in actor Rajkummar Rao and the proof’s in his words of admiration for the star and his performance in the film ‘Dhurandhar’.

Rajkummar, who previously lauded the film on social media, continued to applaud the actor and his director, Aditya Dhar, for their work on the spy genre. In a video shared online by Always Bollywood, Rao, who was promoting ‘Toaster’, revealed that he watched the film with his wife Patralekha and was deeply impressed by both the storytelling and performances. “We both have seen it and we both absolutely loved it. I think Aditya’s language of cinema, the way his craft is, it’s phenomenal. I have never seen a spy film like this in my whole life, coming out of India. The way he has portrayed it and Ranveer in it was brilliant, absolutely brilliant. We both really enjoyed it. I think his passion, storytelling, his use of music, everything, there was so much to learn from it. Very new kind of filmmaking,” he said.The Dhar directorial ‘Dhurandhar’ and ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ have both emerged as major box office successes. While the first film crossed the Rs 1,300 crore mark, the second part hit an impressive Rs 1,700 crore and is still working its magic at the box office.

Rao also shared his thoughts during an AMA session on Reddit, where he shared that Ranveer’s character of Hamza in the film was his favourite. “I loved Dhurandhar. For me, the best character was, of course, Hamza and Ranveer played him so well. I messaged him, and we spoke over the phone for a long time after I watched Part 1, Because whenever I get inspired by a performance, I make sure to call the actor and tell them how much they’ve moved me with their work. And Ranveer did that with ‘Dhurandhar’ and No. I can’t choose any role that I would say I could have done better, Because all the actors in the film were just phenomenal,” he added.

Rajkummar also previously took to his Instagram stories to laud the film. In a post on his handle, he wrote, “#DhurandharTheRevenge (red heart emoji) @adityadharfilms Master Filmmaker. You’ve raised the bar very high bhai.” The actor also dedicated a heartfelt message to Ranveer, saying, “@ranveersingh Bhai, you’ve inspired me and how with your pitch perfect performance. The first scene and the last scene and everything in between was pure magic.“

‘Dhurandhar : The Revenge’ has achieved a worldwide total haul of Rs 1,733.20 crore. It became the first Hindi film to cross the Rs 1,000 crore net mark in India, earning an estimated Rs 1,099.72 crore and a gross total of Rs 1,316.45 crore. It has also become one of the most successful films at the overseas markets, earning an estimated Rs 416.75 crore collection thus far.
